The Protagonist: Randle Patrick McMurphy The protagonist of this novel is Randle Patrick McMurphy, a wild, larger-than-life character who brings life to the ward. Analysis Of Shakespeare s The Midsummer Night s Dream...

SHAKESPEARES PLAYS-SHAKESPEARE Interpretations of greek mythology in shakespeare: mention main focus on ovid and reasons—most popular at time --can briefly mention other sources One of the ways Shakespeare incorporated classical allusion into his work was simply by description. He would reference a character or place, in place of an adjective, so as not to have to go into too much detail as his audience at the time would have understood that point he was trying to get across due to their education. These references would have little effect on the actual plot of the play. These references would be used to describe appearance, personality, mood or occupation. Theseus’s monologue in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, about the insanity of lovers shows this clearly when it describes how the lover in question perceives his love as having ‘Helen’s beauty’, even without being objectively unattractive. This reference was clear and would definitely be understood by Shakespeare’s intended audience. Even in modern art and literature Helen of Troy from the Trojan horse myths is seen as the epitome of beauty. --Mythological names can also be used to represent a mood or state of mind. In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hermia uses a range of references in association with Lysander. These ranged from Venus, the goddess of love, Cupids Golden arrows, to Queen Dido. Queen Dido was abandoned by her Trojan lover, Aeneas, and burned herself alive. A Letter to My Friend Essay Example For Students

A Letter to My Friend Essay Dear Audrey, I believe that the day I met you was one of destiny. Id never believed in destiny because my life was difficult and I was lonely; I couldnt accept that as the ultimate purpose of my life. I remember that afternoon I sat alone on a bench park, recently dumped by the one Id believed was my best friend. She left me the way the previous ones have done it, by throwing me away after giving those shiny underestimating glimpse. I have had enough of that, and had lost hope on everything, until the hand of a beautiful woman, who seemed like she was reaching forty years old soon, touched me and looked at me carefully while saying, Perfect!  . No one ever said that about me, not even once. So, needlessly saying, I was absolutely touched. The smiling-face lady held me tight in her hand. I could see that she wanted to bring me somewhere. She walked me through the sidewalk, then we crossed a big junction, and after walking some more miles, we entered an alley and stopped our journey in front of a not-big-but-not-so-small house. The house from the front was very lovely, with its big garden surrounded the building that mostly white. I was excited to know more about the house, just like the lady that was more excited to show me to someone younger than her by (perhaps) twenty five years old that she addressed with Audrey, darling. This Audrey, darling came out from the front door and ran to the lady, that turned out to be her mother. Audrey, darling whose real name was Audrey, was a short curvy girl with long wavy blond hair and turquoise eyes. She smiled brightly when seeing her mother coming; especially when she knew that her mother brought me along with her. I could see happiness all over her face. But somehow, I saw something different. Something weird in those shiny eyes, something fake in her wide smile. It was cleverly covered, but it was still obvious. It was a feeling that I knew well. Loneliness. From the very first time I met Audrey, I knew that we would be best friends. We were lonely and we needed each other to share. We had something in common. She told me everything that she knew. She always came to me whenever she came back from school to tell all the things that happened to her that day. She often told me some funny jokes from television, and I thought she was a fun girl. The thing that I loved most was when Audrey said that I was her only best friend. This was my first time being very important to someone. And I, as a best friend, would always be there, the place where Audrey wanted me to, faithfully waited for her and her stories. Days went by with the inseparable friendship between Audrey and I. But then, Audrey stopped talking to me. I did not know why she did, but something that I realized was that she had done many changes. She began to wear headbands, she paid attention to her clothing, she made sure to always spray perfume all over her body, and she always looked at the mirror before going out from her room. I was quite sad that Audrey did not tell me anything about her changes. I felt so betrayed. But one day, she finally talked to me. Dear Diary, There is a new student in my class, his name is Ron. He is from London. He is a pure British with his sturdy appearance like all the British guys. He chose to sit beside me even when there were many empty chairs. I do not want to expect much, but I am glad he did it. We talked and talked about anything. The more we talk, the more I realize that he is a smart guy and I love the way he talks with his unique accent that I could not have enough for hearing his voice. He is really charming, and he has a warm heart, I guess. Do you think that I am in love? I do not know about that. But for now, I think he is a very good friend. Sorry but I cannot share much to you, because I have much things to do. .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f , .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .postImageUrl , .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f , .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f:hover , .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f:visited , .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f:active { border:0!important; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f:active , .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u0ef0bcaf65a1e870bd8d505b6fa8a61f:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Stalinism and Stalin's Ideology EssayBut I promise to talk to you in a while. Our Influence on Global Climates essays

Our Influence on Global Climates essays The world's scientific experts agree that industrial and land use activities are having an adverse impact on our climate. Burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gasoline creates global warming pollution that acts as the glass in a greenhouse, reflecting heat back toward the Earth and warming our climate. If we do not take steps now to reduce our emissions of global warming pollution, we will suffer serious environmental, public health, and economic repercussions. We owe it to our next generations to leave them a healthy environment and economy. Industries must start reducing their emissions of global warming pollution before we seal the fate of future generations. The earth's climate is predicted to change because human activities are altering the chemical composition of the atmosphere through the buildup of greenhouse gases (primarily carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide). Its functions are similarly to the walls and roof of a greenhouse, allowing sunlight to enter, but preventing heat from escaping. Sunlight passes through the atmosphere and heats the earths surface. The earth gives off heat energy, in the form of infrared radiation, which travels back toward the atmosphere. Instead of going into space, some of the infrared radiation is trapped by greenhouse gases (Schneider, 1989). The main greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor, and ozone. The gases send infrared radiation back to the earth's surface. Some greenhouse gases occur naturally in the atmosphere, while others result from human activities. Naturally occurring greenhouse gases include water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone.
